摘要:AC Adjustable Speed Drives (ASD’s)have become very popular variable speed control devicesused in industrial, commercial and some residentialapplications. Modern solid state induction motor drivesare highly sensitive to voltage sags. A voltage Sag isdefined as a momentary decrease in the rms voltage, witha duration ranging from half a cycle up to 50 cycles. Theproblem of voltage sags is of important because it cancause loss of production and revenue due to the trippingof equipment sensitive to voltage variations. This paperpresents a method for mitigating the voltage sag throughSWISS rectifier (SR) in the front end and Z-sourceinverter in the back end. The SR is a buck type AC to DCconverter which provides more controlled voltage at theDC- link. This rectified output DC voltage fed to theImpedance source network of the ZSI. The impedancenetwork is used to buck or boost the input voltagedepends upon the boosting factor. Simulations areperformed for the proposed model. The simulation resultsof DC-link voltage and speed of the motor are analyzedand is compared with the conventional methods.
