摘要:In Mobile Ad hoc NETworks(MANETs), certification systems play an importantrole in maintaining network security becauseattackers can freely move and repeatedly launchattacks against different nodes. By adoptingcertification systems, it becomes possible to excludeidentified attackers from the network permanently byrevoking the certifications of the attackers. A simpleway to identify attackers is to collect information onattackers from nodes in the network. Thecertification systems is difficult to differentiate validaccusations made by legitimate nodes from falseaccusations made by malicious nodes and also theamount of traffic in order to exchange information onattackers and the necessary time to gather theinformation increases as the network size becomeslarger.A certificate revocation scheme which canrevoke the certification of attackers in a short timewith a small amount of operating traffic. Byclustering nodes and introducing multi-level nodereliability, the Certificate scheme can mitigate theimproper certificate revocation due to falseaccusations by malicious users.
