摘要:The objective of the project is to design andsimulate the planar monopole antenna for UWBapplications. The base of the proposed antenna is adiamond-shaped patch (DSP) that covers the ultrawide band (UWB) 3.1–10.6 GHz frequency range. Itis shown that by removing the centre part of the DSPantenna, without distorting the UWB behavior. Thiswill not affect the dimension of the base antenna. Theused substrate is FR4 with relative permittivity of 4.4and thickness of 1mm.The designed simple DSP -UWB antenna has a substrate size of 16*22mm2andcovers the frequency band 3.1–10.6 GHz whichincludes UWB. The antennas have omnidirectionaland stable radiation pattern. Hence, a rectangularshaped ground plane is designed and will besimulated using ANSOFT-HFSS. The parameterssuch as return loss, VSWR and radiation pattern aretaken.
