  • 摘要:In a deregulated electricity market, itmay always not be possible to dispatch all of thecontracted power transactions due to congestion ofthe transmission corridors. This paper presents atransmission lines congestion management in arestructured market environment using acombination of demand response and Thyristorcontrolled series compensators (TCSCs). Theoverall objective of FACTS device placement can beeither to minimize the total congestion rent or tomaximize the social welfare. The main motivationof the work is to carry out the contingency selectionby calculating the Generation shift factor (GSF) forgenerator outage and to implement the demandresponse and Flexible AC Transmission Systems(FACTS) in managing the transmission congestion.The effectiveness of the method has been tested andvalidated with TCSC and SVC in IEEE 30 bus testsystem.
