摘要:In this paper, an implementation of SelectiveHarmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHEPWM)as applied to a single phase AC chopper using GeneralizedHopfield Neural Network (GHNN) is designed andimplemented. The objective of this paper is to eliminate 5, 7,11, 13 th order harmonics in the output voltage waveform ofthe AC chopper while retaining fundamental component to thedesired value. The switching angles corresponds to the aboveobjective are obtained by solving a set of non-linear algebraictranscendental equations. The problem is redrafted as anoptimization problem and it is solved by using GHNN. Anenergy function is formulated for the above problem and a setof differential equations describing the behavior of GHNNwere formed by using the derived energy function. These set ofdifferential equations are stiff in nature and it is numericallysolved by the semi-implicit midpoint rule based extrapolationmethod with suitable initial conditions. The initial conditionsare obtained from a look up table. A MATLAB simulation wascarried out and the FFT analysis of the simulated outputvoltage waveform confirms the effectiveness of the proposedmethod. Hence, the proposed method proves that it is muchapplicable in the industrial applications.
