  • 摘要:Functional electrical stimulation (FES) isan effective technique for the hand rehabilitationfunctions such as grasping and releasing. Theparalysed patients cannot carry out the activities ofdaily living. This system can be used for the stroke andspinal cord injured individuals. The technology usedin the restoration of hand functions are generally usedfor the neuro prosthetic restoration. Severalprospective studies have shown that repeated motorpractice and the motor activity in the real worldenvironment have a favourable effect on the motorrecovery in stroke patients. Functional ElectricalStimulation induces greater muscle contraction byproviding stimulus through the electrode. By applyingstimulus through the electrode, the grasping and thereleasing actions has been achieved. The level ofstimulation for the paralysed hand can be adjusted byusing the control knob. This stimulation adjustmentmakes the patient to feel comfort.
