  • 摘要:In this paper a Dynamic VoltageRestorer (DVR) based on a multi level inverterwith energy storage devices is proposed. Itdescribes the problem of voltage sag and swellsand its severe impact on non linear loads orsensitive loads. The dynamic voltage restorer(DVR) has become popular as a cost effectivesolution for the protection of sensitive loads fromvoltage sags and swells. The control of thecompensation voltages in DVR with diode clampedmultilevel inverter and PDPWM technique isproposed. Multilevel inverters have become morepopular over the years in high power electricapplications without use of a transformer andwith promise of less disturbance and reducedharmonic distortion. These Pulse WidthModulation (PWM) techniques include CarrierOverlapping (CO) strategy, Variable Frequency(VF) strategy, Phase Shift (PSPWM) strategy andSub-Harmonic Pulse Width Modulation (SHPWM)i.e. Phase Disposition (PD) strategy, PhaseOpposition Disposition (POD) strategy andAlternate Phase Opposition Disposition (APOD)strategy. The Total Harmonic Distortion (THD),VRMS (fundamental), crest factor, form factor anddistorti on factor are evaluated for variousmodulation indices. Simulation is performed usingMATLAB-SIMULINK.
