  • 摘要:Blast furnace represents the dominatehot metal making production process worldwide anda largest unit in an integrated steel plants. Thepurpose of the blast furnace is to chemically reduceand physically convert iron oxides into liquid ironcalled hot metal. Handling of blast furnace units isnot a simple issue. During the blast furnace operationvarious hazards like fire and explosion, blast furnacegas which is more hazardous and explosive in natureare arise. Safety analysis requires a thoroughlymethodological investigation such analysis mustinclude the ability to deal with problems involvinghuman error. In this paper what if analysis asystematic brain storming approach is applied to thetwo nodes of blast furnace units to find out thehazards and its consequences arise during blastfurnace operation. Based on the results of what ifanalysis two nodes are prioritized and safetyprecautions, recommendations were suggested for thesafe operation of blast furnace nodes.
