摘要:Learning b y reading has an important place in teaching-learning process. Students encounter many texts in their academic life and daily life, and get in an intensive effort of reading. Importance of content of texts, as well as diversity of them, makes reader approach these texts critically. Therefore, critical reading skill is one o f the skills a student must have. Although instruction of this skill is mostly put curriculum, research sho w that critical reading skill is not taught effectively. The idea of that the students must have several sub -skills before they acquiring the critical reading skill is indicated as the reason of this situation. In this study it was aimed to draw attention to this subject. Also literature based recommendations and sample activities presented for teachers about distinguishing facts and opinions, determining different perspectives and biases, evaluation of arguments and evidences while reading.
