摘要:The need for high broadband capacity and wide coverage network is increasing exponentially. Radio over Fiber is a solution to this desire. ROF is an essential technology for the wireless communication. In this paper a bidirectional radio over fiber ROF system based on sub-carrier multiplexing incorporating amplitude shift keying modulation technique is designed. The performance of the system is then optimized with various performance evaluating parameters such as bit error rate(BER), Q-factor, Eye-height etc. Dispersion compensation techniques such as pre-compensation technique, post-compensation, and symmetrical-compensation for the same system are also designed to improve the system performance. The system incorporating dispersion compensation scheme and the system without compensation techniques are then compared. Several measurements are found; the eye diagram, Q-factor, Bit Error Rate (BER) curves for both uplink and downlink, with the variation of operating frequency, fiber length etc. for each system.
