  • 摘要:The aim of this study was to estimate the eff ect of stock-plant forcing in a greenhouse during springas a management technique for stock plants on rooting and on changes of carbohydrate contents ofcuttings from deciduous azalea cultivar ‘Polārzvaigzne’ during the rooting period. ’ Forcing of the stockplants enabled to start propagation of deciduous azalea by cuttings one month earlier. Conditionsin the greenhouse promoted accumulation of carbohydrates in the shoots of forced stock plantscompared to control plants. However, the stock-plant forcing aff ected neither the number of rootedcuttings nor the duration of time necessary for maximum rooting. Th e patterns of carbohydratechanges were similar in forced and control cuttings. Th e amount of reducing sugars, total solublesugars, and starch increased signifi cantly in the cuttings aft er severing, while the level of sucrosegenerally fl uctuated over time. Aft er root emergence the content of reducing sugars, sucrose, andstarch decreased initially in the stem base and later in the leaves of cuttings. Th e content of starchwas better related to the rooting process than the content of total soluble sugars.
