摘要：The need for a quick reference data base on the source of worldwideavailable aerial and outer space imagery has become inoreasinglyapparent in recent years, particularly for those concerned with naturalresources surveys and management. With this in mind, FAO has held twoexpert consul tat ions ( 1917, 1979 ). This paper reports on the findings ofthe consultations and outlines the measures needed to provide a world indexof space imagery (WISI ).
