  • 摘要:This paper mainly focus on harmonics analysis of three phase AC supply available from three phasevoltage source inverter which is fed to induction motor drives using various PWM techniques based on Fieldprogrammable Gate Array. Ideally the output of inverter should be sinusoidal but due to harmonics the output havingdistorted waveforms. A number of Pulse width modulation (PWM) schemes are used to obtain variable voltage andfrequency supply. The most widely used PWM schemes for three-phase voltage source inverters are carrier-basedsinusoidal PWM, Space vector PWM (SVPWM) and Random frequency PWM (RFPWM). There is an increasing trendof using SVPWM because of their easier digital realization and better DC bus utilization. The SVPWM pulses thusgenerated through FPGA is given as switching pulses to VSI circuit to trigger the motor. The gating signals to theinverter are produced by means of RFPWM to significantly reduce harmonics in comparison to currently used PWMs.FPGA is used to produce gating signals to the switches in a three phase bridge inverter since a faster speed of operationis needed. This paper discuss the harmonic analysis of VSI fed IM drives using SVPWM and RFPWM techniquesbased on implementation of FPGA. The Simulation is carried on VHSIC Hardware Description language (VHDL)using modelsim.
