  • 摘要:Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) problem is one of the most important ones in Power system operationand Planning. The main objective of the ELD problem is to determine the Optimal combination of power outputs of allgenerating units so as to meet the required demand at minimum cost while satisfying the Constraints. This projectendeavours to tackle the ELD problem, whose Scheduling is done over a time period of hours with the sole purpose ofminimizing the expecting cost of operation of power plants while providing Reliable and Robust power to consumerwithin given set of system and operational constraints. In this thesis, the three main Optimization techniques of bothConventional method and Artificial Intelligence techniques namely Analytical method, Lambda-Iteration method andGenetic Algorithm (GA) are analysed. And at the last the comparison between all the three methods have beenpresented with a conclusion of “The GA provides better Optimization than any other Conventional methods”.
