摘要:Recent developments in engineeringoptimization allow choosing the best input values therebyenhancing the effectiveness of any equipment. OverallEquipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a performance measurewhich employs factors such as availability rate,performance rate and quality rate to determine theefficiency of a manufacturing system. In this paper,Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is optimizedusing Genetic Algorithm to achieve the best utilization ofthe plant resources. The availability rate of the machine,performance rate of the machine and quality rate of theproducts are considered as parameters while maximizingthe Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of amanufacturing system. It is found that the lagging inperformance rate contributes more than availability rateand quality rate that deficiency of effectiveness in thesystem. It is concluded that maintaining the performancerate above 95% will result in effective utilization of theconsidered manufacturing system.
