摘要:Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) ispractical technique aimed at maximizing the effectivenessof facility that we use within our organization. TPMestablishes a system of productive maintenance, coveringthe entire life cycle of equipment, covers all departments,involves participation of all employees from top to bottomand promotes small group autonomous activities. Thisresearch paper addresses the TPM implementation how itimproves the competency level for employees at theLeading belt manufacturing company located in Madurai.A literature survey was undertaken into the elements andTangible and intangible benefits of TPM implementation.Role competency gap for the employees, an intangiblebenefit of TPM for employees were discovered and thequestionnaires were formulated. Based on thequestionnaire, competency level for the employeesassessed together with industrial people. From that surveyinformation the role competency gap of each employeehas been calculated by using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) & Role Competency Matrix (RCM).
