  • 摘要:Finite element (FE) analysis is used inmany critical applications such as aerospace, biomedicalsectors to simulate the material behavior before beingmanufactured. These industries are using compositematerials extensively due to their inherent properties suchas high strength to weight ratio, corrosion resistant anddurability. Hence FE studies are imperative inunderstanding the material deformation characteristics ofthese lightweight materials. In this study it is proposed tomodel the carbon fiber reinforced epoxy tube material inan orthogonal turning process using 2D FE models inABAQUS software. The FE simulations are carried outand the deformation characteristics and stress patterns ofthe composite tube are analyzed.
