  • 摘要:This work presents an application ofimproved Elitist Non-dominated Sorting GeneticAlgorithm version II (NSGAII), to multi-objective discbrake optimization problem. The disc brake optimizationproblem is considered as a two-objective problem. Thefirst objective is the minimization of the mass of the brakeand the second objective is the minimization of thestopping time. The disc brake optimization model has fourdesign variables and five inequality constraints. Toimprove the performance of NSGA-II, two modificationsare proposed. One modification is incorporation of VirtualMapping Procedure (VMP), and the other is introductionof controlled elitism in NSGA-II. The main objective ofthis project is to apply NSGA-II Algorithm for optimizingthe design of Disc Brake for minimization of brake massand stopping time and to compare the results obtained byNSGA-II Algorithm with that of the results alreadypublished for Genetic Algorithm.
