摘要：Ad-hoc networks are multi hop wireless networks capable of establishing dynamic link without any preexisting infrastructure and centralized management. Due to its dynamic topology, open medium and scalablecharacteristics, these networks are more vulnerable to security attacks. Securing MANETs from various advisories atdifferent layers of protocol stack becomes a challenging task. One such attack is rushing attack. It is network layerattack which decreases the probability of finding optimal route to destination. It exploits route discovery phase thatworks on principle of duplicate suppression for communication and become part of active route. Any on-demandrouting algorithm which uses duplicate suppression for establishing route is vulnerable to this attack.
