  • 摘要:Determination of seismic active and passive earth pressure is necessary for the safe design of theretaining wall in earthquake susceptible regions. Pseudo-static and pseudo-dynamic methods do not consider the effectof Rayleigh waves. Rayleigh wave comprises of about 67% of total seismic energy. In this study a new Pseudodynamicmethod proposed by Deepankar Chaudhary Amey Deepak Katdare is used to compare the active and passiveearth pressure with pseudo-static method. This latest pseudo-dynamic method considers primary waves, shear wave andalso Rayleigh waves. This method satisfies the condition of zero stress condition on ground surface.
