摘要：Liquefaction of soils is associated with the lossof shear strength due to an increase in pore waterpressure. It causes extensive damages to buildings andinfrastructures during earthquakes. It is important toknow the parameters influencing liquefaction of soil inorder to understand the liquefaction phenomenon clearly.Past studies clearly indicate that there are differentparameters that would influence the liquefaction of soils.Therefore, the present study purports to critically reviewthe findings reported in the literature to reveal theinfluence of different parameters on liquefaction of soils.The critical evaluation brings out the anomaliesassociated with the influence of some of the parameterson the liquefaction. The study also indicates the need offurther experimental investigations regarding fewfactors’ influence on liquefaction of soil.
