其他摘要:This article discusses transformations of Lenin’s slogan Коммунизм – это есть Советскаявласть плюс электрификация всей страны as used in contemporary Russian newsdiscourse and the expressive meanings that they convey. The material, consisting ofapproximately 1,500 instances, was collected from the electronic database Integrum. Thearticle opens with a brief discussion of linguistic expressivity and a short description of thehistory of transformations of the slogan. The results of the study demonstrate thattransformations of the slogan in its entirety tend to occur within the text and to conveyvarying degrees of negative attitudes, which may appear either through the wording of thetransformations or through context. Transformations of only the last part of the slogan areused mostly as headlines or subheadings. With these transformations, it is almost alwaysnecessary to read the text in order to grasp the intended positive or negative attitude.
