摘要：Palm leaf manuscript is the conventional mediumof writing in Asian Countries. In order to recognize palmmanuscript character, few research works were carried out onIndian languages like Devanagari, Kannada, Telugu scriptsand now, various researches are in the progress for thedevelopment of efficient system for recognizing the Tamillanguage. The ancient Tamil literature includes medicalworks, astronomy & astrology, Siddha and so on. This workdescribes the survey of various techniques being used forTamil palm script recognition.
