摘要:Hand Gesture Recognition System (HGRS)has been proved to be a powerful communication toolfor deaf and dumb users, irrespective of geographicaldifferences. HGRS is fragmented in six consequentphases applied on captured image namely; HandDetection, Hand Tracking, Region Extraction, FeatureExtraction, Feature Matching, and Pattern Recognition.We have studied various techniques in HGRS for signlanguages and now present the analysis of performanceof existing techniques in HGRS. Our study is presentedon the basis of fragmentation used in HGRS andincludes the strength and the scope of improvements foreach technique. These observations will be highly usefulto the researchers putting efforts in the domain ofrecognition of sign languages for improving therecognition rate particularly.
