摘要:This article addresses the everyday life of the mounted police guard force in the territory of the Black Sea Governorate – more specifically, the territory of Sochi Okrug. On the eve of and during the 1905-1907 revolutionary events, it was this area where an extremely volatile situation had persisted due to interethnic conflicts. It was in hopes of enhancing authority in the region that the mounted police guard force was set up, which consisted of Cossacks, the Ingush, and Ossetians. In conclusion, the author points up that, on the whole, the mounted police guard force did a good job performing its law enforcement duties in the region’s territory during the pre-revolutionary and revolutionary periods.
