摘要:The choice of restorative material and restoration technique to be used in the restoration of endodontically treated posterior teeth is important to increase their stability against fracture. Composite resin is more preferred to amalgam for the restoration of such teeth. The use of composite resin with the modern adhesive systems is known to strengthen the remaining tooth structures. Furthermore, in order to strengthen the endodontically-treated tooth against fracture, restorative techniques such as placement of a post in the root canal, use of onlay restorations covering the tubercles, incorporating woven-fiber into composite material or combinations may be used. In this review, the effect of these techniques on the prevention of the fractures of endodontically-treated teeth is discussed.
