摘要：An artificial reservoir can be one of the most important factors creatingthe tourist attractiveness of an area, and therefore it can have an impact on the levelof tourism development. This paper consists of two basic parts. In the first part, theauthor describes the importance of an artificial reservoir for the tourist attractivenessof the area and its impact on the socio-economic development. Also, problems relatedto the tourist utilisation of the reservoirs are pointed out. In the second part, theissues listed above have been described on the basis of selected reservoirs in Hungaryand Poland. As can be concluded from the research conducted, the Solinskie Lakelocated in South-East Poland, Lake Tisza in the Northern Great Plain have asignificant impact on the local development.
