摘要：The diversity of technical and industrial heritage artifacts (coal mines,limestone quarries and energy and textiles industrial centers, among others) inside thePetrosani Depression (one of Romania’s biggest mining regions) requires theirpreservation and capitalization by tourism, which is at the same time the best way todisplay the history and culture of the region. A part of the industrial centers are currentlyclosed down, which allows for their reassessment and reshaping, by identifying ways forrenewed technological and economic exploitation. In this context, the purpose of thisstudy is to carry out an analysis of industrial heritage assets, in order to define a strategyfor their capitalization as cultural tourism attractions. At the same time, industrialtourism can contribute to changing the negative public perception of the PetrosaniDepression and to its acquiring the status of a cultural tourism destination
