The researcher gathers the data from hot springs and coral reef locations. The data management needs center around the ability to link together the data, which consists of Excel spreadsheets, annotated photos and microscopy images, and other files. The links would need to be maintained over time. Additionally the data would need to be submitted to a repository once manuscripts were published.
