摘要:The objective of this work is to reveal and evaluate the evolution of the shoe industry LPAs of Vale do Sinos (RS), Franca (SP), Birigui (SP) and Nova Serrana (MG) over the period between 1995 and 2006. A survey of literature referring to the main productive arrangements of that sector was conducted and secondary data from RAIS/MTE was used. The results demonstrated growing and positive variations on the number of companies and workers of these arrangements, as well on their proportion in relation to the shoe industry in the respective states and in Brazil. Those that presented higher increase in participation in relation to the national shoe industry were notably the poles of Vale do Sinos and Franca, followed by Nova Serrana, whereas Birigui presented small reduction. This fact leads us to believe that the organization in the format of local productive arrangements is generating positive effects to development of the shoe industry in these regions.
