摘要：Considering the need to prepare researchers to communicate scientific knowledge in Psychology, this text reports and categorizes some common problems regarding citations found in a restrict pool of dissertations, thesis, published papers and books published between 2004 and 2007. Two researchers identified potential problems with complete agreement on the definition and the examples for each one of the eight categories produced by the analysis labeled as: unnecessary, showcase, mistaken figure-ground, out-of-time, sprayed, superimposed and masked. The current report focuses on the need for more caution with the use of citations in scientific texts as a way to improve the identification and appreciation of the studies mentioned and to avoid inaccuracy regarding the original ideas of the quoted authors.
