摘要：A revolução científica operada nos últimos tempos recoloca também para a teologia e para as ciências da religião o seu estatuto epistemológico e científi-co. A melhor forma de a teologia esclarecer seu lugar no âmbito das ciências é esclarecer sua distinção e sua relação com as ciências da religião. Tanto te-ologia como ciências da religião, no entanto, precisam se situar diante de um terceiro, a sociedade pluralista e sua exigência de convivência, o que reclama a responsabilidade pública e a necessidade da existência da teologia no âmbi-to público e não apenas como afirmação de identidades próprias. Abstract The scientific revolution operated in the last times replaces also for the theol-ogy and sciences of the religion its epistemological and scientific statute. The best form of the theology to clarify its place in the sciences is to clarify its dis-tinction and its relation with sciences of the religion. As much theology as sci-ences of the religion, however, need to place themselves in front of one third, the pluralist society and its requirement of living together, what not only de-mands the public responsibility and the necessity of the existence of the theol-ogy in the public level and as affirmation of proper identities.
