  • 摘要:In his Cur Deus Homo Anselm of Aosta (1033-1109) deals with a basic question of Christian faith: the incarnation of the second Person. How could God assume the human condition and die crucified for mankind? Anselm wants to show the rationality of the incarnation and that such rationality may be understood also by no Christians. The Autor wants to show how Anselm develops his argument, namely God only can be thought as “aliquid quo nihil maius cogitari potest” (Proslogion 101, 5). By means of his incarnation and redemption God has achieved a work of Love in favour of man. It isn’t a mere one more gesture of Love, but a supreme demonstration of Love; on account of its singularity it only may be understood as a Love not possible to be thought greater.
