摘要:This paper aims at reviewing some ideas about the notion of information in different traditions of the Theory of Journalism. It starts with a discussion about newspapers and print journalism, with a special focus on the genesis and definition of the notion of news. The paper, then, frictions some aspects of news with the idea of ‘knowledge’ in journalism. It suggests some possibilities to think of information beyond its content dimension. In this sense, the article raises some questions regarding the role of information in journalism studies, and points out ways of conceiving of textual and news frames.
