摘要：Descriptive study on mediation developed by the libraries of Brazilian public universities through its sites and use of devices social web for direct communication with its users. The results presented correspond the stage of survey exhausting that it subsidizes a research concerning the “Mediation for reading and writing in the activities of the libraries of the Brazilian public universities”, which has the objective of identifying the carried by this type of library, its limits and potentials in support of the reading practices and written production. With the conclusion of the survey census, it was observed weak use of the devices of web for the libraries of the public IES for the development of action of mediation, even so good part of this universe already makes use of sites for access and use of the information for the users. although good part of this universe already makes use of sites for access and use of the information for the users.
