摘要：Concern for the environment is increasingly present in discussions and everyday life. Most of the environmental problems are generated by the negative impacts caused by waste generation and inadequate disposal contaminating soil, air and water. In the present scenario, society has been increasingly concerned with the environmental issue. Research institutions produce a large portion of waste due to their routine activities. Thus, due to the important role research plays in our society, and the environmental impact that residues may present, it is necessary to implement waste management programs in these educational and research institutions. Given the above, this paper makes a diagnosis about the sources of waste generated at UPEA / IFF, and suggestions regarding proper treatment and disposal of it residues aiming future implementation of an environmental education program.
