摘要：Changes in the concentration of water quality indicators caused by pollution in the Paraíba do Sul River can affect the chemical behavior of water and its most important uses, such as supply to millions of people in southeastern Brazil. This study aimed to monitor the Paraíba do Sul River water quality opposite the Unidade de Pesquisa e Extensão Agroambiental – UPEA (campus Rio Paraíba do Sul), and provide feedback of the results to the youngsters from nearby locations, using an environmental education project. The study involved physical, chemical and microbiological analysis of the water, as well as awareness of scholarship recipients who live near the river and UPEA. Higher turbidity values ??were found during the rainy season when greater entrainment of clay minerals occurs.
