摘要：The municipality of São Francisco de Itabapoana, RJ, is economically dependent on agriculture and fishing, so the management of water resources takes on importance. The two major rivers bordering the town to the north (river Itabapoana) and south (river Paraíba do Sul) have streamflow data series. Among these rivers, a profusion of creeks and streams is responsible for supporting to farming, while human supply is dependent on groundwater. Contamination is associated with the use of agrochemicals. The effluents are discharged to the soil, what compromises the quality of the water table, with unexpressive industrial pollution.
