摘要:As they encourage the monitoring of natural changes introduced by man such as soil use and occupation, basins should be considered as planning units because they allow for the monitoring of their activities in order to preserve natural resources. This study aims to characterize the watershed of the Serafim Stream, subbasin of the Paraibuna River, located in Juiz de Fora, MG, regarding its morphometric features. To do this, it was necessary to limit the basin area inserted in the map by IBGE (Juiz de Fora SF - 23 - X - D - IV - 1, scale 1:50,000). The basin has an area of 39.8 km2, drainage order equal to five and guidance to the northeast. The drainage pattern has been classified as dendritic, indicating average drainage capacity. Through the correlation between the morphometric factors, it can be stated that the basin has a median susceptibility to flooding.
