摘要：This text analyses the most significant theoretical background points on urban space production under capitalist production. It makes a historical overview on the world wide urbanization and then it opposes on the Brazilian’s outskirts formation to some central and peripheral countries. The aim is to apprehend what is singular and/or general in Brazilian outskirts. For such, it emphasizes the need of understanding of the outskirts formation process, observing the most different aspects of its daily reality. So, contributions from Geography, Architecture and Urbanism as well as History, Philosophy are used, which enlarges the debate on this topic.
