  • 摘要:This paper is aimed at analyzing and describing the technological diffusion of No Tillage (NT) in Argentina for the period 1978-2008, in order to verify if the features presented in the implementation process are equal to the ones in the industry, using the “S” Curve Model of technological diffusion (Rogers, 1976). The evolution of NT at the national and regional levels in a pioneer case of the Southwest (SW) of Buenos Aires, Argentina is studied. Also presents a comparison with the evolution pattern of this technology in a productive area of Brazil: the region of Rio Grande do Sul. The research method used is based on the exploratory qualitative study using quantitative data. The primary information sources used were obtained from semi-structured questions performed during interviews. Bibliographic and documentary sources of secondary information were used as well. The analysis shows that the implementation of the NT follows the “S” curved type model at national level. Similar behavior is observed in the case of study of the SW of Buenos Aires, Argentina, which has been a pioneer in the implementation of NT in the region. Comparing the process to Brazil, we found similarities (the “S” curved type model, reasons and period of technology implementation, the difficulties within the process of implementation, the degree of involvement by the institutions in the diffusion) and differences (the relative share of the NT in the total surface area implanted, the amount of actors involved in the diffusion) in the diffusion pattern of such technology.
