摘要：Este trabalho tem por objetivo traçar uma reflexão pautada nos movi-mentos de circulação dos bens culturais e dos processos de construção identitária no âmbito da cultura e da educação. A preocupação centra-se em demonstrar, aprovei-tando-se de alguns dados estatísticos, as mudanças ocorridas nestas últimas décadas, configurando o que denomina-se de sociedade multicultural. A partir desse pressupos-to apresento um conjunto de características que norteiam a configuração da sociedade multicultural onde elementos tais como a multietnicidade, identidades híbridas e movimentos migratórios constituem focos para a análise da realidade multicultural, buscando formas de intervenção nesse contexto. No âmbito educativo a concepção de interculturalidade é anunciada nesse trabalho como uma possibilidade de efetivar essa intervenção. Descritores – Educação; identidade; cultura; multiculturalismo. ABSTRACT – This paper has as objective to trace a reflection based on the move-ments of circulation of cultural goods and in the process of identity construction in the realm of education and culture. The focus is to demonstrate, using statistical data, the changes of the last decade, giving shape to the multicultural society. From that per-spective the text presents a group of characteristics of the multicultural society such as multi-ethnicity, hybrids identities, migratory movements that are key to the analysis of multicultural reality and searching for forms of intervention. In education the concep-tion of intercultural is considered a possibility for the intervention in the multicultural society. Descriptors – Education; identity; culture; multiculturalism.
