  • 摘要:The objective of this research was to describe and analyze how managers of shops located in a shopping center in Belo Horizonte (MG) perceive the question of time, according to the five categories of analysis of Bluedorn and Jaussi (2007) model, described at the theoretical framework. A field research, descriptive and essentially qualitative, was performed. Data were collected through interviews with 11 managers and analyzed using content analysis technique. The prevalence of high levels of "polychronicity”, "speed" and "punctuality" was perceived in their speech. Even managers say that they are facing the present time, this is seen as a cause of what happens in the future, denoting “temporal depth” aligned to the future. Analyzing the process of "entrainment", the power of organization is perceived as effective on all its members and the manager is perceived as a privileged actor, but, at the same time, as a "voluntarily" condemned to a rhythm of hard work and to a contradictory behavior in face of his subordinates. Despite their manifest preferences, its ability to act and move through dimensions addressed in the analytical model is remarkable. Due the observed limitations in this study, suggestions for future research were explained.
