摘要：This paper describes a survey on 16 plants at Polo Camaçari/BA that process harmful products. The study aimed to evaluate the Programs of Process Security of the plants related to the OSHA standard ( Occupational Safety and Health Administration ). Two objectives have been placed by the authors: a) evaluate the character and intensity of the practices and b) verify eventual differences of efficacy among the programs measured respectively as accident reduction and incident reduction. The results show that most of the plants follow in some ways OSHA standard prescriptions. With respect to differences among the plants it was observed that plants following OSHA standard seem to show much efficacy than the other ones. Multinational plants present also much efficacy but that could not be proved by statistical significance tests.
