摘要：This paper offers a detailed bibliographic review of those Colombian historical novels published between years 1844 and 2014. At a first glance, the author defines what is understood as ‘historical novel’ and how this concept has been applied in the Colombian literature, from middle 19th century until today; then several authors and novels are highlighted as representatives of several country regions. Finally, changes produced along 160 years are described, covering from 19th´s romanticism to post-modernism. As a conclusion, the author points out some historical facts and circumstances, which have influenced literature production in Colombia.
