摘要:During the process of urbanization that Bogota experienced in the early twentieth century and the demographic, infrastructure or services changes, the forms of ritualization around music experienced a series of transformations. While the city was developing, and the entertaining and recreation times were blooming, musical practices adjusted to new influences, spaces, scenes and technical conditions. Some of them were renewed, like public concerts or band performances. Others like the cafés and the theaters had their heyday, and some other ones, like the radio and records, invaded the life of people in Bogotá. In this paper, each one of these practices is identified and characterized, remarking on the characters, the social groups, scenes and imaginaries that constitute them. From a cultural perspective, and supported primarily by the local press of that time, it is shown that these forms music exposure speak to the transformation of a local society; in this case, it analyzes the changes that Bogota society experimented with between 1900 and 1940.
