摘要:The complexity in the organizational environment often trigger abrupt changes and constant and therefore generate adverse situations to be faced by people in the workplace as a new context emerges from this process, then the emerging need to adapt to this new reality. To adapt and cope with such adverse situations, sometimes emerges in people's ability to develop protection mechanisms, called coping. The process of coping is the reinterpretation of aversive situation experienced, so that this reinterpretation allows the relaxation of the behavior and actions of people, given the risk factors that led to their vulnerability to the situation. Therefore, the main objective in this article was to understand the process of coping among workers in a financial institution they have encountered before an adverse situation, the consequence of a radical change occurred in the workplace. The research is descriptive, qualitative, temporal cut sectional with a longitudinal perspective. It was concluded that there was evidence of the process of coping in staff who have experienced the acquisition, and remained working at the acquiring institution.
