摘要：This article debates the characteristics of the academic pluralism of the researchers who initiated the Social Communication Graduate and Post-Graduate Program (PósCom) of the Methodist University of São Paulo (Umesp) and their contribution to the spread of the ideas which came out of the São Bernardo do Campo Communication Group. This study analyses the aspects of the speech that each of those researchers revealed in their texts. Based in the enunciation theory, our first analysis considered the basic formation of each researcher and their bonding with communication, as well as the approach revealed by each researcher's text. It was found out that the germinating speech of the communication knowledge developed by the Methodist University of São Paulo has its origin in a multiplicity of disciplines made up of many other sciences.
