摘要:The aim in the study was to present the process of adapting the task Narrative Discourse of the MAC Battery for application to children, also verifying whether the task distinguishes children’s performance regarding the type of school. The adaptation process subsumed four steps: 1) instructions and terminology adaptation; 2) compared analysis of propositions by a neuropsycholinguist; 3) specialized judges’ analysis; 4) pilot study with 14 children aged 6 to 12 years. Two groups of healthy children aged 7 to 9 (15 from a public school and 16 from a private school) were compared. Word changes in the narrative and in instructions were developed, a process grounded on the judge’s analyses and on the pilot study. The amount of information present in the partial retelling of the narrative was superior in children from private schools. The task is apt to aid in the identification of the developmental profile of some neuropsychological functions in childhood.
