摘要:Metacognitive monitoring plays an important role in enabling individuals to obtain information concerning their own cognitive processes and it can be accessed through the formulation of judgments, which are estimations about performance. In the present study, metacognitive monitoring of 44 children was investigated during the execution of three subtests of an intelligence battery, based on Cattell-Horn-Carroll's model of intelligence. The aim was to investigate relations between metacognitive measures and cognitive performance. Results showed that the sample had metacognitive abilities in their repertoire, and some metacognitive measures were significantly better for participants with higher performances. Data is relevant to confirm international literature with a Brazilian sample, and to discuss whether metacognitive training is possible and relevant.
